What would be the remaining duration of H1 Stay?

Hi there,

I am working for a company and utilized almost 5 years of H1b duration. I have my I140 approval from this company. Now I am planning to make a switch.

So now when I make the switch to a new company, will I get a fresh new 3 years or will I get the remaining 1 year of the total 6 years of H1 stay.

Please advise.

You could get one plus two years assuming everything else is above board and the I-140 is not revoked.

Generally, an individual is eligible for the time remaining from his or her initial 6 years of H1B time.
