Newbie2017
Hi All, I have a H1B visa which is valid till Dec 2013. I would be completing 6 years by this. My employer would be sponsoring GC and had already filed PERM labor which is awaiting decision. I have some questions regarding the EAD. 1. Can I apply for EAD personally without contacting my employer? 2. How long it typically takes for getting EAD? 3. Would my spouse also get EAD along with me, if I submit for her? 4. Do I need to let my employer know about EAD? If I do and if they ask me to work on EAD, I'll lose my H1B status right? 5. If I don't apply for EAD for my spouse, will she lose H4B status when my H1B is revoked? 6. Can I continue work for my current employer in H1B and work for another employer through EAD? 7. Will my employer ever come to know about my EAD if I don't let them know? 8. If I have EAD, will there be any issues during the filing of I-485? I just want to know the pros/cons by doing this as I don't want to get into a situation where I have to go back to my native country. Thanks a lot for your responses. Thanks Shree Link to comment
pontevecchio
You can only file the EAD when the PD is current and you file for AOS. You have a long wait before the PD will be current. Hence your other questions are redundant as of now. Link to comment
