karramadhu Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Hi Everyone, I came on F-1 visa in August 2009 and I got my visa for 4 years till July 2013. It took 2 and half years for me to complete my Master's. My first OPT started from January 30th 2012, now I applied for OPT extension. I will get extension till June 2014. I want to apply for my H1-B as I have my visa till July 2013. My question is if I file for my H1-B in April 2013 when can I expect it to be approved( if i apply in premium). If my H1-B gets approved and when I go to India before July 2013(till my visa is there) do I need to go for stamping or my H1-B is effective only after october 2013. What is my status after my H1-B gets approved till october 31st 2013, Can I be on my OPT and go to India before my Visa expires, does immigration officials come to know that I am on my H1-B? So I am planning to apply for H 1 as I don't have option. As my H1 starts from october can I go to India until my visa is valid( july 2013)?
