Query regarding family based GC for F-1(OPT) Student

Dear All,

I am in USA from last 4 years. I came here as a F-1 student and have completed my MS and currenlty I am on OPT and working for IT company. My company will file my H1-B visa this April 2013. My sister is US citizen. She filed my Green card in 2010 and got the confirmation reciept in OCT 2012. My Mother is also on Green card. She got her GC in 2011. She is in and out in USA.I have some questions. As I mentioned above my GC is in process. What would be the difference If a person lives in USA and his family filed a GC for him . How long will it take. Should I search for a company who can file my GC in EB2. I am a citizen of Pakistan and I think Pak EB2 date is current.

Please advise.

No difference. The H1 status will be yours for 6 years and you have time to get a GC sponsor.

You get no preferences being in the US. You need to wait your turn and maintain legal status at all times.
