silversurfer
Hi, I am planning to apply for citizenship (Currently Staus : Permanent Resident - Employment Based). I was convicted for disregarding the "NO TURN ON RED" signal. My online driver license record shows following details. This is the only time it happened.... IN-STATE CONVICTION Court: ***** MUNICIPAL CRT Offense Date: 2/**/2011 Conviction Date: 2/**/2011 Points: 2 Offense: TRAFFIC CONTROL LIGHTS My question is : Can this be an issue for me to get citizenship? I would greatly appreciate your response to my question... Regards Link to comment
JoeF
You do need to list this on the application, but it won't be a problem. Link to comment

submit2junk
If red light turn is a hurdle to citizenship then no immigrant will be able to apply for citizenship. Will they revoke some one's citizenship (after he/she becomes a naturalized citizen) if the person violates a red light turn? I don't think so. If that would be the case then wait till Google self-drive vehicle hits the market (Looks like CA is already in the process of amending its laws for issues / collisions / accidents with such a vehicle. Insurance companies might take a hit because camera is involved and they cannot always be in a win-win situation (compared to humans driving vehicles and getting into accident/dispute where no one wants to admit mistake).
