tensedlife Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 Hello - I have been in USA under H1, completed my six year term and moved to Switzerland for one year for work. Now am back to USA under H-4 (my spouse H1-B). I am planning to take an MBA, but am curious, if I can accept scholarships from these universities. As part of the program, I will be entitled to attend Internships in some companies, but I am not sure, if this will be possible, since its paid and I cannot accept salary. What about the SSN number? Can I provide these numbers to universities if they ask for it, since if they provide scholarships, it needs to be tied to SSNs. I understood that SSNs are not provided for H-4s.
tensedlife Posted January 3, 2013 Author Report Posted January 3, 2013 Which means, I could accept scholarships. Is it?
pontevecchio Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 You will possibly need to get F1 status. You will need to ASK the specific Colleges involved.
wiweq Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 "Which means, I could accept scholarships. Is it? " => Better to contact to the school directly. Most of the benefits like GA, TA, Scholarships, on campus work are limited to F1 students only.
