wiweq
Earning any kind of money other than H1b employer is illegal for an H1b employee. Link to comment
Shruti1983
What if company C2 gives Employee E the money on 1099 Link to comment
JoeF
What if company C2 gives Employee E the money on 1099 It is ILLEGAL. On H1, you can ONLY work for your employer. 1099 or not doesn't matter. Link to comment
rahul412
What if company C2 gives Employee E the money on 1099 If you are on H1, only the sponsoring EMPLOYER has to pay you and by law you are suppose to work for that EMPLOYER ONLY. If you want to work for C2, then C2 has to sponsor your H1 so that you can work for C2. Link to comment
t75
1099 is NOT acceptable. Your primary employer may also have an issue with you working elsewhere. Unless you have a concurrent H1B for C2, you may only work for C1 Link to comment
SameerH1Bworker
Earning any kind of money other than H1b employer is illegal for an H1b employee. Partially WRONG: H1B employee CAN EARN money by investing in share/stock market & receive 1099 from stock broker for IRS taxes. However, H1B employee can not work for other employer based on 1099.
