h12345 Posted December 25, 2012 Report Share Posted December 25, 2012 hi friends i joined a company on January 4th 2012. my company is planning to file l1b blanket visa for me next month. overall i have more than 10 years of experience, i have worked with current company previously for 3 years at onsite and worked with current client for 3 years in my last employment. i had left company and then rejoined them questions 1. is one year experience with current company good enough for filing l1b blanket visa? 2. do i have to necessarily file for l1a as i have more than 10 years of experience request you to please provide your inputs. thanks & regards Link to comment
Attorney_23 Posted December 26, 2012 Report Share Posted December 26, 2012 In order to quality for L1 status, the individual must have worked for the company for at least 1 year in a specialized knowledge, managerial, or executive capacity; and, he/she must be coming to the U.S. to work in a specialized knowledge, managerial, or executive capacity. Attorney_23 Posted December 27, 2012 Report Share Posted December 27, 2012 Someone with 10 years, or even 50 years of IT experience would not necessarily have specialized knowledge. The definition of "specialized knowledge" under the government regulations is rather complicated. If your company does not have an attorney assisting with this petition, I strongly suggest you consult with one before going to the Consulate. Link to comment
