pontevecchio Posted December 21, 2012 Report Share Posted December 21, 2012 Any employer must first file and get a H1 petition non cap approved for you and then you must get a H1 visa and come over. The phrase "within 6 years of the petition date" has no meaning. A plain reading of the interpretation and guidance by USCIS suggests there is no time limit. Of course it would be difficult to find a sponsor after decades. Link to comment
