Travel on H1B and Transfer

Hi!

I have a question while I plan to travel to India next week. My consultant is holding my H1B and I am working on a project for their client. I am in talks with another company who is willing to transfer my H1B for a full time role (approval pending) in the next couple of weeks. The question that I have is:

While I am in India if I get the approval should I start my H1B transfer? Just FYI - I will only start working on the new job once I am back in the US with current company's documents. Is it advisable to transfer the H1B while I am in India so that I can start as soon as I come back to the US or should I wait until I come back and then apply for a transfer? In other words, can I have 2 H1B at the same time and still come inside US without any issues with document of just one company?

You can come back with any valid H1 visa and an approved H1 petition for the company you are entering to work for.
