Re-entering US on valid H1B

My H1B is valid till oct 2013.

In August 2012, i moved back to india and joined the indian subsidiary of the same company. I am on India payroll now .

I will be moving back to my parent company. Will the immigration officer need some additional documents and proof to justify my stay outside US for 6 months?

Do i need a new offer letter from my US employee?

There must be documentation about this fact. They may need to see it.

You definitely need proof of job in US. The stay outside the US is not an issue.

Surely you are not responding to oral orders. You do have a letter confirming the move with details of salary etc.?

Ask your employer to write an employer verification letter with US address. They know it very well.

i have the letter when i visited US last year.I also have my salary slips till july 12 .

Not sure but will the same letter do or do I have to ask my employer to provide me with a new one?

Better, get a new employer letter. Generally, letter with 3 months date are considered expired.
