swanseanic
Hello, This is my first post on the forum. I am currently employed at a not-for-profit instution and my 6 years of H1-B expires in June 2013. I have always worked on cap-exempt H1-B and hence never counted against the cap. Through my current employer, I have an approved PERM application and the I-140 is currently filed (EB2). Assuming all goes well and that the I140 is approved, it is my understanding that I can then get a 3 year extension to my H1-B status. Now, if I decided to change employers inbetween (once I get the 3 yr extension), will I be allowed to work for a company throough regular H1-B, assuming they file in April and I start work in October? Or am I now limited to working only for not-profit institutions? Either way, can I port my priority dates? Any input from folks on the forum will be helpful. Thanks. Link to comment
