pranavi123 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 All, I am on L1 and will complete 5 years with L1 in May 2015. My I-140 is filed and say if it gets approved in 2013, can I keep extending my L1 after that or should I convert to H1? Please let me know as we need to plan accordingly as my husband is working on L2 EAD
pontevecchio Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 No L1 extensions are possible with an approved I-140. You should find a H1 sponsor.
pranavi123 Posted December 10, 2012 Author Report Posted December 10, 2012 Thanks for your reply. Could you please let me know if I can extend my L1 for one more year after my I-140 os approved? I heard that we can be on L1 for total of 6 years (instead of 5 years) if I-140 is approved. Please confirm
pontevecchio Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 L1B...5years L1A...7 years. No extensions for either based on I-140 approval.
