L1 visa extension when I-140 is approved

All,

I am on L1 and will complete 5 years with L1 in May 2015. My I-140 is filed and say if it gets approved in 2013, can I keep extending my L1 after that or should I convert to H1? Please let me know as we need to plan accordingly as my husband is working on L2 EAD

No L1 extensions are possible with an approved I-140. You should find a H1 sponsor.

Thanks for your reply. Could you please let me know if I can extend my L1 for one more year after my I-140 os approved? I heard that we can be on L1 for total of 6 years (instead of 5 years) if I-140 is approved. Please confirm
