bravo357
Hello, I think mine is a bit peculiar situation. Here is how it is: Opt STEM end date: 7/18/2012 CAP Gap end Date: 9/30/2012 H1B Applied on: 6/04/2012 Approved on: 08/16/2012 Start Date on I797: 11/23/2012 Employer and Attorney had no idea why my H1B did not on Oct 1st, 2012 even though it had to. Am I "Out of status" from Oct 1st 2012 till Nov 22nd 2012? Or the 60 Day grace period cover for it? I now want to go for stamping in Canada but read in a different forum that "I cannot go to Canada or Mexico if I was ever out of status during my stay in the US and have to go to my home country instead". I need some suggestions here if it would be any issue if I am going to Canada for stamping. Or, do I really need to go to my home country for stamping? Would I be facing any difficulties during the Visa interview? Link to comment
pontevecchio
Your grace period seems to cover it. Link to comment
