Currently on L1B - can apply L2 for family later

Hi,

I am currently on L1B which has validity for 3 years and similar I94 validity. I would be here for an year or two based on company assignment. Can i apply L2 for my family back there in India seperately? They would be joining me here for vacations in april and may and would be going back in june.

Will they be able to get L2 easily if they appear for a visa interview in india? Or should i try for some other visa category like visitor?
