jinneebhat
I am currently on H1B in my 6th year. My new employer is going to pay me by hr. However, due to travel constraints with long commuting from my house to clientsite, I may not able to complete my 40 hrs of work every week and atmost will be able to cover 35 hrs of billing per week in client timesheets Is that allowed and legal in H1b status? I read that you need to work 40 hrs a week on H1b to be legally on H1b? Not sure if I should accept the offer. Please guide me Link to comment
JoeF
The H1 would have to be amended with the lower hours. Link to comment

Please guide me On H1 whether you get paid hourly or monthly, your pay shouldn't be less than the min wages and by the EOY your W2 should be equal to the amount mentioned on the LCA. Link to comment
metroguy
As long as you are paid the minimum total yearly amt mentioned in you LCA, you are ok. Link to comment
pontevecchio
You have to be paid the LCA Wages at least. Link to comment
t75
A long commute is not an excuse for not reporting to work. Get up earlier. Link to comment
