H visa questions Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 Hi I have a approved H1b visa (single when filed). Now I plan to apply an H4 visa for my spouse(who is outside US). Could someone please help me with the procedure? Can we apply for H4 ourselves or do we need an attorney? Do I need to file any petition (or any document) for my spouse's H4 through my employer/lawyer/USCIS? Or just fill the DS160 form and go directly to the consulate with my H1b documents? Help would be very much appreciated!
krialta Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 H4 is straight forward. Send copy of your passport, H1b (visa if you have and I797), pay stubs, bank statements, tax returns, doc to prove your marriage ..... list on top of my mind check with someone for actual list. Once she got all this, fill out DS160 and book an appointment directly with any american consulate in her home country for H4.
pontevecchio Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 just fill the DS160 form and go directly to the consulate with my H1b documents.
H visa questions Posted November 11, 2012 Author Report Posted November 11, 2012 Thanks! Also is there a minimum salary requirement to apply h4(40k ?)?What supporting documents would be needed to show sufficient funds?
pontevecchio Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Your question is very strange. If you are getting your LCA salary and have stubs to prove it along with bank statements she will get the H4 visa.
