payal.h83@gmail.com Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Hi, I was driving with a suspended licence in Sep'12 when a cop stopped me and took me to police station. My licence was suspended due to unpaid traffic violation ticket. They took my finger prints and let me go(i was never jailed for this). During my court hearing the judge cancelled the charges of driving without suspended licence and converted it into traffic violation and made me pay some fine. All due are paid and case is closed now. I am travelling to India this Dec and need to get my stamping done.Below are my concerns: 1)Should i mention YES in DS-160 form in question which ask that Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even though subject of a pardon, amnesty, or other similar action? 2)Are there any chances , the above issue (finger prints in police records) can create problem in my stamping (getting 221G )?? 3)Will there be a red flag on my name due to above incident? Pls help me with these questions. Thanks
pontevecchio Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Be truthful. This should not affect your visa stamp. Carry the papers of the court disposition and fine receipt.
payal.h83@gmail.com Posted November 12, 2012 Author Report Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks for ur reply...Just wanted to check if based on anyones experience with this kind of situation, are there any chances they can hold me in India for any additional background verification and how long can this take?
pontevecchio Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 If there is any delay it is unlikely due to this matter.
