smooth4me
Hi, Here is my situation. I am on H1B and working for direct client(Full time postion). Started as a contractor and then they offered me full time position. So we never had discussion about my dui so I have guilty feeling that I am hiding something from him. Is it good idea to tell him that this is what happend. I am confused he is also started my GC process. When will this dui come in to the picture in GC processing? Thanks for advice in advance. pontevecchio
If you were given a rehabilitative disposition for the DUI and state laws allows expungement you should do so by contacting a DUI lawyer. Since you mention nothing about the incident and the circumstances as well as the disposition it is difficult to say whether or not it will enter the picture at any time. Link to comment
mitsu3000gt
State laws are different on expunging DUI cases. But, I still believe that DUI popsout in your immigration cases (though its expunged). I had DUI 6 yrs back and my employer didnt know this yet. I mentioned this to my atty when my company started my GC process. Atty said that, as long as its only one DUI; it shouldnt be much problem. However, if you go to visa stamping under 3 yrs of your DUI case, you MUST need to go through physicals and psychological evaluation through consulate appointed doctor (I have done this in Chennai). I didnt get my GC yet, but I believe I must attend interview before I get GC. I am not sure. Link to comment
t75
If you filled out any employment documents untruthfully, you can be fired "for cause"; if not, don't worry about your employer finding out at this time. Just NEVER drink and drive ever again - your life and mine depends on it. Link to comment
