meera sharan
Hello.. I was on my F1 and worked through OPT status and applied H1 this year. It got denied. So, I came to India within the 60- day grace period (after OPT expired on July 7, 2012) Now am planning to apply dependent visa, H4 after my wedding next month. I am very much concerned about my odds for getting my H4 stamped without any hassles. Will there be any issue while I go to stamping for my H4 visa at Hyderabad consulate (My would- be is on H1 and he will get it stamped before wedding)? Can anyone please suggest me if there could be any queries, regarding my H1 denial before? Thanks, Meera. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Your H4 visa stamp is totally dependent on the H1 credentials of your future spouse. If that is kosher you will get your stamp. Link to comment

Why are you getting worried about your dependent visa? You should be good to go, unless and until if you have not abused any immigration rules during your previous stay in US. Link to comment
meera sharan
Thanku pontevecchio and rahul..!! i was in valid status while i was on F1. But my VISA expired in Nov 2011, but I continued to stay since I had valid OPT extension till July 7, 2012. I applied H1 this april, which got denied. I left US before 60 days of H1 denial notice and OPT grace period. So, I was concerned if my VISA or H1 denial would cause any query. Anyways, it gave me some hope from your replies that I may not be having that problem :-) thanks again!! Link to comment
