Applied for family based 485 while EB3 485 pending

Need some advice..

I have a pending employment based 485 since 5 yrs and recently applied for family based GC.. Completed the FP process and an interview was scheduled at the local office.. Couple of days before the interview, local USCIS office called my attorney and de-scheduled the interview.. Took an infopass few days later and was told by the IO that the service center is not releasing my pending 485 A File to the local office.. Until they receive the A File they are not going to reschedule my interview..

Did anyone had a similar experience? I am not sure why they wouldn't transfer the file .. and isn't it all electronic anyway?

I know this is a pretty old thread. But, it would be nice if we know how this got resolved. I have a similar problem where we finished the interview but the office said he/she could not approve the petition till our previous file was sent to local office.
