autumn123
Hi, I did my masters in CA,i filed my tax returns through 1040NR(India-Us treaty) in which the student is considered to be non resident alien and will be getting back all the tax's filed for that year.So my question is I am planning to attend H1B visa interview .So will in any case my tax refunds effect my visa, like you are considered to be non resident right so will that effect visa. Will The Us consulate have IRS tax data too and will this in any case effect my visa. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Any legal IRS matter has no connection to your H1 Visa. Link to comment
applying4usvisa
It should not affect but Dept. of States should have all the way to verify your records including IRS. They never believe us just by submitting documents. They must verify them to make sure the docs are not forged. Consult with immigration attorney. My friends received 221g regarding his tax returns. All the best. Link to comment
