ravin.mvsr@gmail.com
Hi : I am an employee in a Non profit organization. 1. I am going for H1B in April 2013 and was wondering if I can apply in general quota (in 60,000 visas), because I am concerned if I need to transfer to profit organization in future. 2. Also if I apply in general quota is the $1,500 for the h1b visa USCIS “Education and Training Fee” still gets waived? 3. What could be the problems if I get visa not in general quota but in exempt(Non profit organization) if I move to profit organization. Can anyone help me in this iisue. Thanks Link to comment

jenniferd
I can answer your third question. If you get a H1B in a cap-exempt form, if you want to move to a corporate H1B you have to wait till April and re-apply under whatever H1B quota is available. With a cap-Exempt H1B you can only move to a university job or a non-profit job. Hope that helps. I have applied for cap-exempt H1B with a university. Link to comment
