amuda2010
I am working as a consultant on H1 since 2006 and in between I went to India twice on vacation and both the times I got the H1 stamp on my passport successfully. Recently my I-140 was approved and I also got 3 year extension of my visa till June 2015. My I-797 is till June 2015. Now I am planning to go to India in Oct 2012 and comeback in Jan 2013. My current project is ending on September 30th. From the stamping perspective, should I convert my H1 to H4 so that it would be easy as I will not have a client letter. Let me know if there are any other options for my H1/H4 status. Thanks. Link to comment
mj129
I believe H1 is better. I don't think that you are actually authorized to work on a H4. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Come back in H4 status. Once you have a project do a COS. Link to comment
