H1B COS - Reinstate L1

My L1 visa is expiring on 1st week of october and have i94 till next year end. H1B COS will happen automatically on Oct 1st through another employer. Can i stay in US working with my L1 employer for few months after Oct 1st or need to move to the H1B employer on 1st Oct at any cost?

If i need to move to H1B employer on 1st Oct, what are my options to reinstate L1? Please advice

Stay out of the country on October,1 and then come back on the basis of your approved L1 petition to work for the L1 employer.

If I stay outside US before 30th Sep 2012 may be Canada or Mexico, on port of entry to US on 1st or 2nd of Oct 2012 will they (CBP officers) deny my entry because I have visa only till 6th Oct 2012? if they not deny, what would be the I94 until date?

You can enter as long as the L1 visa is valid. Days, hours or minutes. The I94 will be till the L1 petition expiry.
