H1B: Payment transaction in Bank statement required for H1b stamping?

My friend is on OPT now and he got his H1B approved which is effective from OCT2012. Currently he is on bench. But he is getting his pay stubs run by his employer each month but no money is being transferred to his account from Employer.i.e no bank statement proofs.

Now he is planning go for stamping in october or november.

1. Does he need to have bank statement proof showing pay transferred from Employer to his account?

2. How many such transactions required?

Oh boy. That's illegal. It is a felony.

He needs to get paid for real. Fake paystubs puts both him and his employer at risk for prison time.

He better gets paid for real! And no "giving it back to the employer." That's also illegal.

How in the world can anybody even agree to such fraud???
