EAD for H4 visa after I-140 approval

Hi,

Background:

I'm currently on H1-B and applying for renewal in July 2013. My EB2 (05/07/2012) application for GC has cleared stage 1 and the application for I-140 is in. My wife and I are both Indian citizens. My wife is on H4 visa.

Question:

If my I-140 gets approved in the next 3 months, is there an option to apply for EAD for my wife so that she can start employment in this country or should we wait until my I-485 is through and both of us get EAD (in say, 3 to 5 years)

Please advise.

She can always find a H1 sponsor next year.
