josemarin
I am currently on L1 which expires on 15 Sep 2012. I am planning to go on to 3 weeks vacation outside of US and the come back with a H1B stamping. Can my company run US payroll for me while on vacation though I do no have a valid visa status between 15 sep and 5th oct (return date to US assuming stamping is done for my new h1b). Please advise. Thank you.....!! Link to comment
JoeF
If you are outside the US, you are by definition not in any status. So, things like payroll can not violate any status. In other words, there is no problem. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Why would they pay you before you start working for them. The concept of status only applies while you are here. Link to comment
josemarin
Why would they pay you before you start working for them. The concept of status only applies while you are here. I am already working for them. Its just that I have to be out of US for few days due to the gap in the visas. So was trying to understand if the company can still run my US payroll even with me outside of US. (I don't want to be unpaid nor would be company be willing to violate any rules) So was trying to understand how it works. Link to comment
