Travelling to India while L2 extension is in process

My L2 extension is in process, can I travel back to India, I have some unavoidable reasons for travelling back. Should I withdraw my L2 extension petition, if so when should that be done, should it be done after I travel back to India? Will this affect my husband's L1 extension petition which is in process, if my petition is withdrawn? And what is the procedure for withdrawing the petition?

L2 is not a petition. It is a status. You can go back for a visit though you will need your spouses L2 extension approval and a valid L2 visa when you return.
