ravi8520
My GF's F1 approved 2 months ago. We are getting married in 2 weeks (due to sudden illness to her mother), and travel to US (Dallas) together. So many questions: 1. I am GC holder, and she is F1 holder. Do we go to immigration together, or does she have to go to Visitor's line? 2. Since she was single when she got her F1, and now married while port entry, what is the risk? specially since I have GC? 3. Any impact when I file GC for her after becoming US citizen? Sorry if this has already been asnwered before. I am now in panic mood. Link to comment
pontevecchio
As long as you maintain the illusion that you are not married she should be fine. But you need to go to different desks and you would do well to buy two separate tickets next to each other. The risk is that she will be not allowed into the country if they sense Immigration Intent which is inimical to F1. Once you have your citizenship then consult a Lawyer and marry her again if necessary and file. Link to comment
