Is it ok to travel on the EAD and Advance payroll when your J1 to H4 is still pending?

Hi,

My wife was on J1 (exempt) New Zealand Citizen and I am on H1B.

My wife’s J1 expired on April 30. We applied for H4 transfer on April 10 and EAD on 23th May. We got the EAD approved but H4 transfer is still pending.

J1 to H4 is pending because the date entry in SEVIS record is incorrect and the sponsor of the program is still in the process of correcting it.

Is it ok to travel on the EAD and Advance payroll when your J1 to H4 is still pending?

I hope you mean Advance Parole. I would not mind getting a bit of advanced Payroll myself. If you mean travelling based on AP following pending AOS then it is absolutely fine.
