ansuman
Hi, I am working client side for a company and am on L1B which, along with my I94, expires in Aug,12. We are about to apply for a normal extension this week. I am not sure I will receive the receipt no. before my I94 expiry (as it has already been too late), but if I do and continue staying till I get a response from USCIS, will that stay affect my future L1 or H1 applications? If for some reason the extension gets rejected, does it mean it will surely come back and bite me in future? What about the time I stay here (maybe about a week to wrap things up) till I fly out in case of a possible rejection? Your answer will greatly help me to decide whether I should go ahead and apply for the petition or should just wrap up things now and go back before my I94/VISA expires. Link to comment
pontevecchio
As long as the extension is filed before the I94 expires you can continue working. Link to comment
ansuman
Thanks for the reply. So I can stay here on basis of the receipt number till I get a reply from USCIS. But if the extension gets rejected for some reason, can this grace period stay affect in any way in my future US VISA applications? Link to comment
