I wanted to know - If I can do it myself or do we need an attorney ? I believe its straight forward and doesnt have many issues. - do we need to wait for the receipt from USCIS before we let the employer know regading the status change? thanks for your help. pontevecchio Posted June 30, 2012 Report Share Posted June 30, 2012 She can file the COS herself. If she is in valid H1 status now she can quit after getting the receipt. If she is not in valid H1 status she needs to talk to a Lawyer. Link to comment
