BV@DC
Hello All, My wife is looking to get back into the workforce and we want to know if an H1B Transfer will work or do we need to apply for a new H1B Visa in the 2013 quota. Details below. 1. My wife graduated with an MS in Environmental Engineering Degree in 2006 2. Got her H1B Approved by an Environmental Engineering firm, in October 2007 and worked on that H1B till July 2009 as an Environmental Engineer 3. After that she lost her job and went back to India, came back on H4 Visa in July 2010 4. She is currently at University of Maryland pursuing a Masters in Information Systems has completed 2 semesters for course work, with very good grades Using her 2 semesters of IT education, can she get an H1B transfer into a company and start to work in the IT/Analytics Industry? Or do we have to wait till next year to get a fresh H1B Visa, as the quota for this year is exhausted. You input and guidance is appreciated. Link to comment
JoeF
She would have to have a degree in the field of work. Since she doesn't have an IT-related degree, she can't get an H1 for work in IT. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Let her finish her Masters. She can certainly reclaim the reminder of her H1 time. Link to comment
