My H1 stamped with past company, now H4 for my wife with new company

Hi,

I got stamped with company A last year. So visa expiry date is in 2014. And I moved to company B recently. I am going get married in next few weeks. Do I have to get stamped with new company in order for my wife to get stamped as H4 with my new company info?

I thought as I have my visa until 2014, I don't want to take risk again by going for stamping again.

Please let me know.

You do not have to get another stamp for her to get the H4 visa.

But when we apply for H-4 visa, don't they ask my H-1B visa stamp copy with new employer?

They want to see proof of valid H1 status...The approved H1 petition and supporting docs, Your I94 as proof of valid H1 status.

You should be having approved I797 with the new company and you need to submit this along with other docs when your wife appears. Your new approval notice with new company will have new dates. And you dont need to go for visa stamping unless you have a valid petition/I94 attached.
