Hi,

I'm working on H1B and my visa expired in august 2010.

I will be travelling to india in July for getting my VISA stamped with my valid 1-797 at the Mumbai counsulate.

Has anybody visited the mumbai counsulate recently for visa stamping of an expired visa?

Also currently when I check the available appointments, the VFS site shows dates only for Month of June.

When can I book my appointment for the month of July?

Any inputs will be appreciated.

I visited Mumbai consulate 3 years ago on a expired visa and I got it stamped successfully. So, it shouldn't be an issue.

I believe, appointments are available only for next 2 -3 weeks for consulates in India. So, you cannot schedule it for July yet. July appointments will open around middle of June.

Thanks westindies.

I would also like to know that I need to pay the applictaion fees and download all the DS-160 form just like I had to do while applying for the fresh visa?

Is the procedure for stamping same as the initial application for the h1b visa?
