Urgent - Ottawa June 4th interview

Hi,

I had my H-1b extension (7th yr) interview on May 23rd in Ottawa. I am an FTE with I-140 approved. I got H-1B renewed 3 yrs ago with the same employer and for the same position at the Ottawa embassy.

VO never asked for any documents. He just asked two questions.

What is your job? I explained.

What is your status in Cananda? Said visit visa for H-1B visa purpose.

VO than told me your papers look just fine but we need to do AP before we make a decision. Handed me 221g Blue form. Kept my passport, returned I-797.

Anyone else in this situation with I-140 approved and still got 221g on H-1B extension on an FTE model? How long you had to wait to get the approval?

Do you have common name? This might have triggered the admin processing. When was your I-797 approved? Was it recently?

My name is not that common. My I-797 was approved in Oct 2011. So I guess not that recent. This is my third H-1B visa. First one I got next day in Montreal. Was with a different company but stil FTE model. Second was 3 yrs ago with the current employer and same job description as now in Ottawa. Got 221g and got the visa in 9 days. Even my I-140 got approved very quickly with no issues in the background check.

Not sure why the delay is this time :(
