Does traveling to the US on B-1 invalidate the 1 year clause for H1B fresh year cycle?

Hello,

I am currently on my final year of H1B. I am planning to join a business in India for a year. However, I will have to travel to the US (either on H4 or B1). Does this invalidate the 1 year clause of H1B cycle renewal.

Brief visits to US on visit visa doesn't reset the 1 yr time. Only USCIS knows the definition of brief visit.

Entering on H4 would invalidate it.

Entering for brief visits for business or pleasure, i.e., on B1 or B2, does not invalidate it, but interrupts it. You would have to add the time spent in the US on B1 or B2 to the 1 year.
