PrasadR
Hi All, My priority date got currnet this month. But my wife is in India. She will be here next month. My questions are If I apply I-485 now without her. Can I do counscellor processing in India? Or Can I include my wife after she arrives here? Or Should I wait till She arrives here and apply together? Please provide your valuable suggestions. I am very thankfull to you in this regard. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Look at the visa bulletin on the 15th or so and make sure there has been no retrogression... Unlikely, but you have to be careful. If no retrogression you can both file next month. If any problem have her come over and file together by month end. Link to comment
JoeF
A dependent is never added to an I-485. If the dependent is in the US, the dependent can file an I-485 himself/herself. Follow-to-join through Consular Processing is also possible, but only once your I-485 is approved. Link to comment
ramram2010
Hi JoeF- Could you please throw some more light on Follow-to-join process. Especially in this case, when can we use the follow-to-join. I see 2 situations here. 1) I485 approved but GC not received by primary 2) I485 approved and GC received by the primary applcant can we do follow-to-join under both cases mentioned above? What is the current normal timeline for someone to get EAD in follow-to-join process. Link to comment
JoeF
The I-485 approval is the important thing. That means the person is a Permanent Resident. Link to comment
