H1 & L1 extension approved simultaneously.

Hi,

I came to USA on L1 with company A. I worked on L1 for 2 years with company A and filed my H1 with company B. Company A filed my L1 extension as my Visa got expired in Jan 2012. Now, my H1 with company B is approved on 28th Jan 2012 and L1 extension is also approved on 2nd Feb 2012.

Now I am not sure about my legal status in USA. I think now my status is L1 as per Last Approval Rule. So Is my H1 invalid now??? I don't want to continue with my current company (L1). Can I resign and continue on H1?? I have not yet received any documents from USCIS ( I94 ). Please advice.

You will need to leave and come back with a H1 visa.
