chbs Posted January 9, 2012 Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 Guys i applied I-485 for me and my wife(as dependent) in Nov, 2011 and last week we got EAD. My wife is working on H1B right now and she wants to take a fulltime position using EAD. As a primary applicant i am still on H1B and i have no intentions to move to EAD. My question here is can my wife use EAD now as her I-485 application is < than 180 days old. My I140 is approved 1 yr ago. I could not find this information in any forums for dependents to use EAD while thier I-485 application is < 180 days old. Please respond. Thanks. Link to comment
pontevecchio Posted January 10, 2012 Report Share Posted January 10, 2012 There is no such rule of 180 days which affects her. Of course she can work on the basis of her EAD. You may be confusing the ability to change employers post 180 days in your case. Link to comment
