itsricha
my husband is going to switch jobs...his new employer said they will file for his new petition n visa...although not for the spouse's H4...that we need to get done on our own... I have a valid petition n visa of the previous employer for the next year and a half...if I dont get my visa changed does it matter?? how will that effect my status in US? Link to comment
pontevecchio
The previous I94 gives you status within its expiry and you need do nothing. Also remember H4 does not involve a Petition and is merely a status. Make sure you extend the H4 status in a timely fashion in future. Link to comment
JoeF
If your H4 is still valid, there is no need to file anything for you. Link to comment

INDNewYork
EMPLOYER HAS TO FILE FOR H4 EXTENSION ALSO. BASIC ETHIC. HE CANNOT ASK THE EMPLOYEE TO FILE H4 ON HIS OWN. Link to comment
