My wife is applying for a green card (I'm a U.S. citizen). She both just recently graduated from university and while I'm still looking for a job, she was able to get one relatively fast. She is currently on OPT (has OPT status?).

I'm wondering whether we can use her income when filing the I-864. It would appear that we can't, from the way the form is worded, however, would it be possible to use her income on the I-864a?

I guess it just seems strange that our household meets the minimum monetary requirement for I-864 purposes, but since she's the one that is making the money, we're prevented from finishing the application process if my initial reading and understanding of the form is correct.
