H4 visa extension... urgent please help

Hi,

My wife had filed for H1B visa extension under premium processing and she got it approved.

Now I am on H4 till 8th sep 2011, My wife's employer is sending out my H4 petition for extension in next 2 days.

Suppose it takes 3-4 months for my H4 to get approved then do I need to go out of The US?

What would be my status after 8th sep. 2011 if we don't receive approval notice for my H4 visa until 8th sep.

Then you should be able to get the receipt soon. As long as you have had an extension petition filed you are allowed to stay. Alternatively you can leave anytime and come back on the H4 visa. Since extra money was not involved your H4 extension should have been applied for with her H1 and you would have been approved at the same time. Anyway too late for that.
