No Valid I94 between H1B approvals

Hello Seniors,

I have a question regarding my legal status between Jan 2009 and Jun 2009. Here are the sequence of events:

1. I have applied my H1 transfer on Oct2008 and it is approved on 24th June 2009. Started working with the new employer from Oct2008 based on the H1b processeing receipt.

2. My previous H1 from prior employer expired on Jan 2009.

3. Details from my H1(797) approval document:

Receipt Date : October 16th 2008

Notice Date : June 25th 2009.

Valid From:06/24/2009 to 10/01/2011.

I94 the validity period as mentioned on I797:

Valid From:06/24/2009 to 10/01/2011.

We were expecting the start date as Oct/2008 for which we requested for.

So my question is since my previous I94 was valid till Jan 2008 and my new I94 is valid from 06/24/2009, would I be considered out of status between these two dates (between Jan 2009-Jun 2009)?

Do I have have to apply for some correction or am I good?

On a side note, a few months ago I got my Labor,I140 and my new H1 for the next 3 years approved as well.

Please let me know your thoughts/suggestions.
