I-94 Expired on 12Sept2011 but have my I-797 valid till 25 Sept 2012

Dear All...Pl suggest me if any of you had or have this below situation.

My I-797 is valid from Sep 2009 to Sep 2012 and i entered US in Jan 2010 received I-94 at POE valid till 12 Sept 2011 . now i am out of date and with I-94 validity and dont know what is te way forward. many questions are bothering me :

1) Do i need to go out of country even though i have work permit here and come back with a valid I-94 or not?

2) If at all i dont go out of country and remain as such here , will it have any complications in future i.e while extentions or changing company ?

Please throw your inputs/suggestions for me ...

please go to nearest CBP location at airport

try more than one airport. Please Go to BWI - Baltimore first if you can

Show USCIS I-94 if you have.

Secondly if at all i go out of country i dont have visa coz visa too got expired in sept 2011. so friends suggest me !!! ASAP

Update on my Case -- I went to Baltimore - BWI airport and they updated my I-94 until I-797 date. If you are in DC area, it is best to go to BWI airport rather than going to IAD airport wasting time and energy.
