I 797 of h1b got expired on april'2011, and now i am planing to do job on h1b.could any please let me know if i need to file new h1b for this year and work only after October or it is only status change from h4 to h1b. thanking for your time yogi. You have 4 years of H1 status available to you. Let a Sponsor file your H1 petition with COS from H4 and get it approved. Then start work. There is nothing called COS from H4 to H1. It means an H1 petition is being filed with COS from H4. Link to comment
