PDB1
Hi I was in L1b visa for 3.5 years and then moved to F1 visa for 2 year for MS study then I got h1b apptoved this year and now my status changed from F1 to h1b but I got h1b only for 1.5 years . My question is that is that 3.5 L1b years has been deducted from total 6 years h1b duration ? Is that the reason I got only 1.5 years h1b and i wont be able to extend h1b further as my 6 years duration will be complete. please reply . Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
Yes. To get 6 years in total you would have to leave for one year and then get a H1 petition approved. Quote Link to comment
JoeF
The time on L1 and H1 is combined. You would only get a full 6 years on H1 if you are abroad for at least a year. Quote Link to comment
