RameshNG
Hello, I am currently on H1b visa with an approved I-140 petition. I resigned from the job effective Feb 10th, 2024, due to my personal reasons or burn out. I don't have an offer from another company or valid H1b from any other company. I am actively applying for jobs but no luck due to stiff competition and h1b visa. However, I do have a valid I-94 and Visa stamping until Aug 2024 with the company that I quit. How many days can I legally stay in USA? Thank You! Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
You have 60 days grace period on H1b to legally stay in US. After which you can convert to H4 or B1/B2 or move back to India. Quote Link to comment
sbk99
@Zodiac System I have a similar question. How does converting from B1/B2 back to H1B work when we find a job with H1B sponsorship? Is it straight forward application or should we leave the country and get H1B stamping for transfer? Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
Once you find a new employer who is willing to transfer your H1b, your new employer will also file COS (change of status) from B1/B2 to H1b status simultaneously. Good Luck. Quote Link to comment
