Missed 2007 Fiasco

PD: June 2006

Could not file in 2007.

Filed for 485 in May 3rd week 2011.

FP done in July 2nd week.

Any predictions, optimistic statements (including me winning a lottery) will be highly appreciated.

FP Done: June 17th, 2011

I-485 Approved: July 8th, 2011

Physical Green Cards Received: July 11th, 2011

I have always wondered, why is it called "fiasco"? In so many ways, it was the best thing that happened to EB category in a long time. The only "fiacso" about it is when somebody did not apply...

May be its because people like the word Fiasco.

Coming back to your question OP, I would say 4-5 months.

Maybe because Knowledge is powerful and a little knowledge is dangerous? Even when the State department tries to help intending Immigrants by forcing the issue people are not happy.

PD is advanced much farther than it should have been. Mistake is realized and then they change mid-month risking a class action lawsuit; negotiated settlement is that they make everyone current. Hence, fiasco for the publishers.

For those who filed (EB3 in oversubscribed categories), due to the yearning to have ap\ead, people filed enmasse. now waiting forever. fiasco for them.

Those who missed, did primarily due to not having approved perm. fiasco for tnem.

In general fiasco for everyone concerned.

As I said a little know how is dangerous. The basic reason for making dates current was to expedite CP which is much faster than AOS processing by many orders of magnitude in view of the wastage of thousands and thousands of visas due to a very slow USCIS.

So that is not the norm you are saying after FP is done it can take upto 4 months without RFE correct?

Thanks all for the responses.

I used the word fiasco as that was the quickest way to refer to the time-frame. I do not agree or disagree with the usage.

4 months sounds like 4 days compared to the current wait (it did not begin on 2006 but much much earlier) so I am ok. Hopefully there are no more hiccups. For me, for you, and for everyone else.
